"What Mom?"
Dear Justin,
8 Months Old! You have now reached the age that I have always said is my favorite baby age. So far, I have liked all your ages, so we'll see if it turns out to be my favorite. As of today you are on the move and off exploring all areas of the apartment. It happened over night! Yesterday you were crawling about 4 feet or so at a time, but generally staying in the same area. I don't know what you dreamed about, but you woke up this morning and decided there was much more to see than your blanketed area, and off you went! Your first new territory was my closet- LOTS of things to see in there. Throughout the day you continued to explore and found the trash, the bathroom, Dad's pile of papers (I warned him to put it away for weeks, so it was fair game!), under the table, the kitchen, and every other place you could go- you went! Just for a brief history...you first started pushing yourself up onto your hands and knees and rocked there for a couple days, then figured out that you could sit from there and do a downward dog/plank pose! Then came the rolling around getting to the hands and knees to sitting phase, in any order. Then you figured out how to crawl backwards and added that to your set of tricks. Then came the forwards a few feet at a time. Then today- everything clicked! The whole process has been about 3 weeks.
You continue to be the happiest baby ever. Although, you are starting to form opinions of foods you like and don't like (love=strawberry yogurt, most fruits. like=carrots, spinach. dislike=peas), and you also have started to get upset if something is taken away from you, or if I don't get you out of the car fast enough once the buckles have been undone. Speaking of the car- you are now in your big boy car seat, aka: your throne, and you love it.
That's about it. Oh- and you're finally settling into more of a routine with a nap in the morning and afternoon and finishing off with a good 12 hours of sleep at night. Way to go buddy! We love watching you learn and grow. Sometimes we wish you would slow the process down though as it is flying by!
love you.
