We had the most amazing trip to New Zealand and then Australia. 2 weeks of non-stop going, but it was great! Quick re-cap....
New Zealand- amazingly beautiful, so green, sheep everywhere, food wasn't too great, humble, kind, helpful people. We went canyoning (cliff jumping, repelling down waterfalls, stuff like that!), we went to Rotorua where they have tons of sulfer pots. It smells but you get used to it. We went in some at this Spa and my skin has never been so soft, it was amazing. We also went horseback riding along the beach and through some cool sand dunes.
Australia- First we were in Sydney, went to the zoo, got to pet kangaroos, saw a baby elephant, lots of other fun animals. Went to a show at the famous Opera House. Went to Bondi Beach, Darling Harbor, Chinatown, LOVED the city. Then we flew up north to Cairns and stayed in a place called Port Douglas. SO SO SO great! Snorkled out on the Great Barrier Reef. It really looks like Finding Nemo. Saw TONS of colorful fish, a reef shark, a HUGE clam shell, beautiful corals...something you should all do at some point in your life! We also went to a crocodile farm, got to pet a koala, drove through the Daintree Rainforest (the oldest in the world), saw some beautiful tropical beaches. It was seriously so great.
Yes, it is winter there now, but very mild in NZ and Sydney and still quite warm up in the north where we ended the trip. It was also nice to have Ryan all to myself without school or any other distractions. You definitely learn so much more about someone after you travel with them! Coming back was a bit of a slap in the face with the jet lag, but it hasn't been
that bad. Oh- and of course I got a didgeridoo and am learning to play it! I'm sure our neighbors are thrilled! It's a very fun challenge though. Here's a slide show of pics. I tried to edit them down, but there were just so many good ones...it does take a couple minutes to get through them all! Hope you enjoy them. What an amazing trip! It's so on my list of places to go but I think it may be a while.
You guys did so many fun and adventurous things - I love it! Glad you got some time with your hubby.
I laughed when I read your first paragraph because that is exactly what I think of when I think of my trip to Australia. I loved it and Australia was awesome, but the food wasn't great. I'm so glad you got to go. The pictures are great.
AMAZING!!! So much fun, wow! I am so happy you had that experience together! Makes me want to go.
Ok, finally got to it. I love the pictures! Looks like you had an amazing trip! You guys were smart to do that now before you have kids. I ,also, give it a 10. That's one's my favorite (with a southern accent).
