So- I'm really behind with blogging these days. So much has happened in the past month. The most note worthy (aside from all the cute things Justin does) is the fact that my working career is over. Well, my career as a full-time teacher is over. (at least for now it is.) I did go back to work to do the Graduation program though, and I was lucky enough to have my Mom come for a week and then my sister, Katie, come for a week to help with Justin. The music substitute and I were doing the program as a collaboration, and then she got really sick the last week of school and the whole thing ended up on me. It was a lot of work, and I wish I had had another week to work with all the kids, but it went over just fine. The kids all worked really hard and were excited for me to teach them again. It was quite the ego boost everyday when I walked into the school to have a flock of kids come running up to me to say hello. Inevitably, a few kids would see me and would shout out "Laurel's here!" and they'd come running while the announcement was echoed throughout the rest of the school. Even the days that I didn't have Justin with me, they were just as excited to see me. So cute. I really am going to miss teaching. I had such a wonderful experience, and was lucky enough to have a lot of support from parents and teachers and honestly enjoyed every day. (sigh) But...time for a new chapter in life I suppose. I can go back to teaching when I'm done having kids. The days I had to go to school for the full day and left Justin at home definitely showed me that I wouldn't want to do that everyday.

How nice that your mom and Katie could come fill in! I'm sure it was fun spending some time with them.
