This year, for the 4th of July we went up to Walnut Creek to visit my parents. We had a great time. We escaped the extended June gloom of LA and had a wonderfully sunny and hot weekend in the Bay Area. My parents had a big pool party on the 3rd with a bunch of their friends, so it was fun to see so many families that I grew up with. Plus, with so many loving adults around to take care of JR, I got to actually enjoy the holiday and some time by the pool. We went to fireworks on the 4th, and although I was a little worried about JR and the noise, he did great. In fact, he slept through the whole thing!

Having fun with Mamie and Papa

JR was indifferent when it came to the pool. He's pretty chill and content no matter where we take him. We're very lucky.

Uncle Luke was getting him to laugh.

I think Auntie Carly loves this little guy more than life itself!

When we got back to LA, we went to a concert at the Hollywood Bowl with some friends. It was a fun night- out under the stars, hanging out with friends, listening to live music, and then to top it off- fireworks to go along with the Hallelujah chorus! It was AWESOME!!! Thanks to Chelsea for getting us all to go!

The smokiness of the picture is due to all the fireworks- it was crazy!
