A few weeks after Garrett was born, we decided to venture to Sutter's Mill. All in all it was a nice day trip, but would have been better not in the dead heat of summer, not with a newborn, and not with a two-year-old who had a fever! At least Justin had a great time throwing rocks into the river.
Uncle Luke came and stayed with us for a few day during the summer. Justin had such a great time with him. This is the two of them playing "special deliver!" Justin loves his Uncle Luke so much and often refers to him as "my lootey." {My Lukey} Being a mother would sure be easier if I still had the energy of an 18 year old!
Justin LOVES to go to Maime and Pop-pop's. He especially loves to go to the warehouse where my Dad keep all the Mashoonga stuff. They adopted a little kitten that they found on the warehouse lot (the office did, not my parents specifically) and Justin loved being able to hold it. Justin drives the forklift and does all the levers himself, including operating the arm to go up and down with Maime on it. Pop-pop's work is so exciting.
Arts and crafts. Up until this summer, Justin hated getting his hands and/or feet dirty. Whether it was finger paints or dirt or sand, he just had a hard time with it. Finally though, he has started to realize that getting dirty can be fun!
Justin had a great time in the pool this summer. He took swimming lessons in June and is great at blowing bubbles and jumping off the side of the pool. He isn't afraid to go under the water, although, it's not his favorite. I'm sure next summer, he'll start to get the actual concept of swimming down, and I anticipate he'll love it.
We often went to The Fountains for the free train ride on Tuesdays.
