Side Note

So, as a side-note to my Thanksgiving post....you might notice that both Ryan and I are wearing coats that are not our usual style. Well, that's because we went to UT without our own. That's right, we went to cold UT when it was almost December without winter coats. However, it wasn't out of choice. You see, we left one of our bags on the shuttle bus we took to the airport at 4:30am on Thanksgiving Day. It was a mis- communication really. I had put the garment bag on, with our carry ons, and Ryan had our two big suitcases. (We had to bring an extra big suitcase to bring wedding gifts home.) Anyway, as we were getting off, and keep in mind this was now at 5am, Ryan told me to get the carry ons and he would get the bags. Well, since he didn't put the garment bag on, he wasn't thinking about taking it off, and it got left on the bus. We realized our mistake just moments later, but it was already too late. Ryan stopped the next shuttle and had them radio the supervisor to radio our bus, and he was told to wait there for the shuttle to come back around with the next group of people. We went and checked in, I stood in the security line, and Ryan waited back out on the curb for 45 minutes! He even talked to the same shuttle driver that he stopped originally and never saw our bus come back around. Our flight was scheduled for 6:10 am, so at 5:50 ish, I called him and said we had to go or we'd miss our flight. Ryan ran up to me at the front of the line, he worked his magic on the next line, and we got to go to the front of the bag scanning line, and we made our flight. Given the holiday weekend, we had to wait until Monday morning to call the shuttle lost and found. Luckily, they had our bag and Ryan picked it up today! It was just the way we had wanted to start our vacation! haha! Actually, we didn't even tell Ryan's family until his Mom asked us about going to church. (Ryan's suit was in that bag.) While it all worked out, Ryan and I learned a valuable lesson. Always double check that between the two of you, you've got everything!
