Yesterday was a great day! Why? Because I got to talk to my not so little, little brother who is currently serving a full-time mission for our church. He has been in the Provo, UT Missionary Training Center for the past 2 months and left yesterday for Seoul, Korea! He had said he might call from the airport in SLC or from LAX during his layover, so I kept my phone on with me all morning while teaching. We're doing folk dancing right now, and a couple parents are helping, so I warned them that if I disappeared it was because of this important call. Around 10:30 I still hadn't heard from him, so I called home. My Mom said he had called them already and to just say a prayer that he'd have time to call me too. His flight was scheduled to leave at 11:00, so I was thinking I wasn't going to get to. But, I said a little prayer and went back into my classroom, participated in a dance, and right when it was done, I felt my phone vibrate with a new message! I had missed the call!!! My prayer was answered too quickly! (when does that ever happen?! haha!) I was so sad. I quickly called my Mom to call Max's best friend, who I assumed he was going to call next, and tell him to tell Max to call again. I'm not sure if the message got relayed or not, but Max called again and this time, I got it! It was so great to hear his voice and hear the excitement he has for being a missionary and going to Korea; to learn to serve and love the people there. He sounded so happy. He has already experienced a tremendous amount of personal growth in the short time he has been at the MTC. You can just tell that he is learning to forget himself and put the Lord and others first. He arrives in Korea at 5:30pm today and will be there until September 2010. Hopefully, I'll be taking a trip over there when he is all done. I love you Max!

Laurel, Let me know what ward or area he ends up in. Michael is in Seoul until the end of April of '09. Perhaps he'll end up in Michael's ward, or Michael could go visit his ward. Maybe have him and his companion over for dinner or something :). That would be so fun!!
It was so wonderful to hear from Max and then to hear him again on your blog. I can't discribe the pride and joy I feel to have "ALL OF YOU" as my children. Great job on the video/slideshow. Thanks for all you do!
